Maple Syrup Production with Hurlbut's Maple
Friday, March 27, 2015 -
1:00pm to 4:00pm
Hurlbut's Maple (3003 County Road 21, Canton, NY)

Join us on a field trip to Hurlbut's Maple* and see maple syrup production in action! The Hurlbuts will take the group on a tour of their sugarbush, where you can see how the trees are tapped and how sap is collected and processed into maple syrup. Learn about the logistics of maple syrup production, the challenges involved, and the delights of working with the woods and their bounty (not to mention the delicious final product).

The Hurlbuts started sugaring in 1995. They are a family-owned and operated business. They also raise Black Angus beef and are in the process of becoming G.A.P. (Global Animal Partnership) certified.

Registration for this trip is open NOW and will remain open through midnight on Wednesday, March 25th. If you wish to attend, please register by this deadline, as we need to know the number of participants to make travel plans.

*Transportation to Hurlbut's Maple will be available.
